Now that I can get to a variety of places in Zürich without looking at a map, I thought it would be a good idea to study the map in the comfort of my living room and see where else I might go. Between the streets, there are plenty of green pockets, and one of them is called Alter Botanischer Garten (Old Botanical Garden). I walk near it every time I go to the AWCZ clubhouse, but not close enough to see it.
Yesterday was a beautiful afternoon, so I took myself on a little trip to see what was there. Not large, it nonetheless has a variety of separate areas with little paths and plenty of benches for sitting. A number of people were sitting, reading, and strolling after lunch.
The Völkerkundemuseum (Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zürich) is also in the park, but I decided to save a visit inside for either a rainy day, or when someone can go with me.
A pond in front of the museum.
Not sure if this signifies anything, but here is a sculpture by the museum.
