Something about living in a new country makes some people want to blog. Every day brings something new for blog fodder, and there’s so much to share with friends and family from back home. I have been reading blogs about Switzerland expats for about a year now, but since moving here, I now know the authors of three blogs. They are listed on the right side of this page, but I want to bring your attention to them.
destination: macaron is by a friend of mine at the AWCZ. Unlike me, she has moved here permanently. She blogs a variety of things, from learning German, to travel, her cooking and crafts.
This blog is co-written by another AWCZ friend and her husband who I would probably have met even if I hadn’t joined the club since her husband works in the same lab as H. They are here for his post-doc which is in its second year.
The Two Small Potatoes are friends of my daughter whom she met in grad school. Like Herr Cervelat, they are here for a post-doc, but they live in Fribourg, a canton and town which straddle the French and German-speaking parts of Switzerland. They are learning French. These Potatoes (native Idahoans) moved here about a month before we did. We met them in the US, but have not yet met up with them here. That shall happen.
