We welcomed spring to Zürich with a solar eclipse yesterday. This eclipse was viewable from Greenland to northern Africa, from the mid-Atlantic into Russia. In Switzerland we saw 60-80% coverage of the sun by the moon around 10.30.
I shared this scientific event with some scientists at the ETH. First we did the pinhole camera thing with a piece of trash. That worked okay.
Then someone from the lab brought out a glass to look through. That worked much better.
Although taking a picture with the lens right up on the filter was not very accurate.
This way worked much better.
